Description:
SHEQ OFFICER (3 YEAR CONTRACT)
Our client, a leading player in the civil construction industry specialising in wind and solar projects, is seeking a qualified and experienced SHEQ Officer to join their team in De Aar, Northern Cape. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety across all project sites. The successful candidate needs to come with 5 years’ experience in SHEQ management within the civils construction industry, with a focus on wind and solar projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Registration as a professional with SACPCMP is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SHEQ management within the civils construction industry, with a focus on wind and solar projects.
- Proven track record in implementing SHEQ systems and Integrated Project Planning (IPP) standards.
- In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage personnel at all levels.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and IPS.
- Vehicle and valid Driver’s License.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain SHEQ management systems in alignment with company standards and legislative requirements.
- Ensure all SHEQ policies and procedures comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and enforce preventative measures to mitigate risks.
- Monitor and report on compliance with SHEQ regulations across wind and solar farm projects and substation construction sites.
- Oversee incident investigations, developing and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide SHEQ training and guidance to site personnel to enhance safety awareness and practices.
