The ideal candidate will have a background in occupational health and safety or environmental whether that be through hands on work experience or academic experience. The SHEQ Officer will collaborate with various departments to create a culture of SHEQ. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental would be an advantage.
- Proven experience as a EHS Officer or in a similar role, preferably in a high risk industry.
- Strong analytical skills to identify hazards, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train employees and collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify potential hazards, risks, and environmental impacts in the workplace report on internal systems and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, environmental assessments & audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Provide training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and quality issues, and develop and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor workplace conditions to prevent occupational health issues and promote employee well-being.
- Ensure compliance with local, regional regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address SHEQ concerns.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills as needed.
- Promote a culture of SHEQ excellence throughout the organization.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SHEQ processes.
