JOB ADVERT SUMMARY

A SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a company’s compliance with relevant safety, health, environmental, and quality standards. The role focuses on minimizing risks, maintaining regulatory compliance, and improving the overall safety and quality standards of the workplace.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Grade 12, tertiary qualification in Health and Safety essential.
  • 4 Years’ experience in Health and Safety, Quality Control and Quality Assurance essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in Hazards Identification and Risk Assessment.
  • Knowledge of Macsteel range of products and the necessary documentation flow.
  • Must be fully computer literate with excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to take responsibility and accountability.
  • Be able to work in a pressurized results driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all statutory Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards are met at branch level.
  • Develop, review and update SHEQ Procedures and Policies of the company, including SSOPs and HIRAs.
  • Compile monthly SHEQ reports.
  • Implement and maintain monthly safety meetings.
  • Ensure that all accidents and incidents are reported and investigated.
  • Ensure that all corrective measures identified during investigations are recorded and implemented.
  • Reporting of incidents to the DoL as per Section 24 and assist with all incident investigations and documentation required: relating to any incident.
  • Maintain all documentation related to the OHSA.
  • Prepare for and execute toolbox talks.
  • Conduct daily plant inspections and provide feedback.
  • Perform safety audits to ensure compliance with Sheq standards.
  • Ensure contractors meet the legal requirements as set by the OHS Act.
  • Ensure safety inductions are completed for all employees according to regulations.
  • Control and monitor all areas to ensure processes are followed with regards to minimizing waste.
  • Identify and provide feedback on cost saving initiatives within area of control.
  • Provide technical information as per product specification.
  • Implement and maintain a Quality Management System in accordance with standards.
  • Conduct on and off site product inspections.
