4. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Ideally at least 1 years’ experience in a similar, supervisory role
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a food retail environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish and European farmhouse cheese
  • Interest in artisan food
  • HACCP trained
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Organised and calm under pressure
  • Available 40 hours per week, 5 over 7 days including weekends

Responsibilities:

1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The Team Leader takes ownership of the day-to-day operation of the Counter. They are responsible for guiding individuals and leading the team to achieve objectives.
The Team Leader is responsible for maximising sales, managing stock levels, merchandising and directing the team to ensure the delivery of the highest possible standards of customer service.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing and directing the team (Cheesemongers); allocating tasks, managing breaks, monitoring standards of work, training new team members, rostering using TMS
  • Help foster a positive work environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale
  • Follow and comply with established procedures for HACCP, cleaning routines, food safety and workplace safety; Ensuring all areas are kept extremely clean and tidy
  • Maintain appropriate levels of stock, placing orders, processing deliveries, dealing with queries from Sales and Warehouse
  • Supervising promotions, tastings, supplier visits
  • Serving customers: dealing with customer queries, complaints, returns, special requests.
  • Model and deliver exceptional standards of customer service
  • Quality control: assisting in dealing with quality issues, handling Supplier Feedback process, communicating with Sales and Warehouse regarding quality and food safety issues
  • Collaborating with Retail Management team and other Team Leaders on day-to-day matters and strategic projects
  • Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with host store management team
  • Ad hoc duties as required, necessary to fulfil the role and needs of the business effectively
