POSITION SUMMARY

As a Shift Engineer at St. Pancras, you will be expected to perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, (CARE, RPM, GCPM), meeting rooms, and/or public spaces as required. There’s a lot involved with this role, however ultimately, your skill, knowledge and expertise ensure that our guests are welcomed to a product that is not only five star, but a product that we are extremely proud of! With two different room products at St. Pancras (Barlow House and Chambers), it is essential that you follow and comply with RPM schedules and checklists in order to protect the heritage of this iconic building.
As a Shift Engineer, you will also be communicating with guests and the wider hotel team to resolve maintenance issues. As part of the wider engineering team, you are responsible for the maintenance, repair, upkeep, and heritage of the hotel.

Responsibilities: Here’s what your journey with us entails

  • Individually completing rooms preventative maintenance (RPM, CARE, GCPM) process including inspecting/flipping mattresses, box springs, vacuuming behind and underneath furniture, spot cleaning carpets and upholstery, touch-up painting, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, ensuring that all hardware and appliances are present in the room and in working order, cleaning, and replacing light fixtures, and inspecting grout and caulking. Upon completion, rooms should be clean, and all equipment and materials removed from the room.
  • Reporting any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the Engineering Supervisor/ Chief Engineer.
  • Performing miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.
  • Identifying and recommending new ideas, technologies, or processes to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
  • Taking ownership and care in all that you do – you are responsible for maintaining the heritage of this iconic building.

Responsibilities:
