Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Hourly Shift Lead - This candidate will support management in day-to-day operations at our Toronto location and will be directly responsible for successfully overseeing and executing shifts independent of the management team as the Lead or “Manager on Duty” multiple times per week.
Our Shift Leads and Managers are the head coaches to our teams, they are essential to the daily success of our Pizzerias and are directly responsible for overseeing all front and back of house operations while on shift. Our Shift Leads are responsible for fostering a support and team driven management culture spear-headed by exceptional hands-on leadership, communication skills, detailed training, problem solving, and positivity. This candidate is a proactive thinker, a self-starter and a well-roundedrestaurant professional. This position reports directly to the General Manager, and Assistant Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
• Supervise the execution of regular service, catering, take-out, deliver during scheduled shifts.• Prepare daily product orders for management to submit. Takeregular product inventories for submittal to Management.• Maintain the physical state of the restaurant by overseeing regular cleaning, side work and reporting R&M related vendor service call needs to management. Maintain Department of Health and company sanitation standards.• Print new hire paperwork for new hires and submit new hire packets to management to process.• Intake time-off request forms and submit to management for approval via email to the scheduling manager• Respond and resolve all guest issues or concerns while on duty.• Maintain food quality, recipe accuracy, and timely order fulfillment while on duty.• Maintain superior customer service standards, coach and correct service staff regarding tone, attentiveness, focus, general conduct while on duty• Foster a support and leadership driven team / management culture by consistently setting an example for all team members by adhering and enforcing policies.• Run employee breaks, ensure break compliance is followed • Monitor and maintain punctual punch in and out times• Ensures all cash handling procedures are upheld. Is accountable for store funds being collected and store properly.• Assist management team in executing and overseeing national shipping production, packing, and inventory as needed. • Responsible for taking daily notes throughout shifts and communicating to the rest of the management team via Manager Daily Reports.
Job Requirements:
• 2-3 years experience as a restaurant shift lead or supervisor in a fast casual setting• Familiarity with Toast POS is a plus• Organized and detail-oriented, strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team of 15-20 people• Self-Starter & proactive thinker. Possesses ability to make decisions quickly and under pressure.• Basic computer skills required.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)• Previous experience as a supervisor is highly preferred• Capable of working over-time as needed on a per incident basis• Expectation of solving scheduling challenges like call outs, covering open shifts and always making sure the pizzeria is left in a success driven state by communicating solutions to management.• Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations.• Current manager food handler’s card is a plus• Highly skilled in problem solving, successfully executing and managing assigned tasks efficiently in an organized fashion. Must be able to work in an organized fashion under pressure and fulfil orders accurately• Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts between other staff members to come to an appropriate resolution• Ability to hold others and themselves accountable for following company policy, recipes, service, and general conduct standards. • Ability to offer coaching professionally and promptly as needed when team performance issues arise• Must be able to take criticism and coaching well, must conduct themselves in a professional and positive manner when receiving feedback about job performance. • Must immediately correct and learn from periodic coaching received from upper management
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
• Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time.• Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.• Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.• Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.• Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Compensation
- $21.00 per hour regular pay plus variable pooled gratuity

Education:
- High school or equivalent
Shift availability:
