Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Section Manager to oversee our Wash and Pack department. The Section Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Wash and Pack section, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for driving continuous improvement within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A foundation degree, HND or degree in a relevant subject, logistics, supply chain management, warehouse management, business management

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience at a supervisory grade in a similar environment
  • Previous experience managing teams
  • Previous experience of working within a controlled Bonded stores environment

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Must demonstrate integrity, confidentiality and professionalism always
  • Strong leadership skills but ability to work with a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop long term relationships and facilitate sometime diverse groups of people to work together to achieve shared objectives
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple demands in a highly pressurised environment to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate
  • Ability to take ownership and deliver to deadlines in a fast – paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English,
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Proactive and positive/flexible attitude

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the Wash and Pack section, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet production targets.
  • Oversee the washing, sanitizing, and packing processes to ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Lead and motivate a team of wash and pack operators, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure adequate supplies are available.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and drive implementation of best practices within the department.
