Position Details
As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint an afternoon Shift Manager(Wednesday to Saturday roster)to join the team our Laverton facility in Melbourne.
This is an exciting, fast-paced retail services environment where you will be responsible for ensuring the site is operating in a safe, compliant, profitable and cost-efficient manner whilst also ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and service is being delivered.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering a high level of service to the customer from the warehouse through to delivery to store across a 24/7 retail logistics operation
  • Ensuring agreed customer service levels are met in consultation with the Customer Relationship Manager
  • Ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed
  • Monitoring and actively managing costs, driving efficiencies and reductions to maximise extraction of value against the contract requirements
  • Contributing to the senior leadership team by assisting with development of strategies and ways of operating to support consistent performance
  • Determining hourly/daily/weekly labour and equipment requirements to meet workloads in line with legal and industrial relations framework

Your experience should ideally include:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role (logistics/transport industry is preferable)
  • A background in a retail logistics environment within a distribution centre or a fast-paced FMCG environment
  • Experience and knowledge of a multi temperature operation
  • Qualifications in Logistics Management or a business discipline, and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Coaching and mentoring skills, managing a large sized operational team
  • Experience and knowledge with transport / route distribution is advantageous
  • A good understanding of profit and loss and other KPI’s that drive storage, handling and distribution costs
  • Knowledge of labour cost control and improvement, and the relationship between labour and handling revenue
