Description:
JOB OVERVIEW
This is a site based role at Coventry Hospital.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople to joint our growing engineering family.
Our Shift Multi Skilled Technicians provide a response and rectification service to all events logged on the helpdesk via a 24 hour shift system. You will also be expected to undertake a number of planned preventative maintenance tasks as detailed on the PPM plan.
You will have knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working, have good verbal and written communication and be physically able to carry out the fuller duties detailed in the job description.
The ideal candidate would have a background within Maintenance / Facilities Management in a healthcare environment or similar and be to either C&G Level 2 / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent / technical diploma.
This is a Shift position that will work 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on and 4 days of and then repeats.
Responsibilities:
- Weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm tests, flushing of little used outlets / water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.).
- Monthly utilities meter readings.
- First line response to reactive repairs.
- Re-lamping of defective luminaries.
- Minor building fabric repairs.
- Minor plumbing repairs.
- Pipe work leaks on heating and hot water systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.
- Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
- Completion of documentation as required, including RAMS and adhere to all associated permits.
- Flexibility in work hours to provide cover if required for holidays and sickness absence.
- To assist all trades within the team and through the correct training be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
- Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner
- Proactively walk the floors, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.
Health & Safety:
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures, at all times.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
- Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.
