Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· To act in the role of Senior Authorised Person with respect to the Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Safety Rules. Responsible for the correct application of the Safety Rules including preparation, issuing and cancelling associated safety documents.
· To manage emergency situations via the sites Emergency Plan; deal with the relevant stakeholders and emergency services.
· To ensure the facility is operated in full compliance with all warranty and design criteria; planning conditions; environmental permit.
· Maintain and support an effective safety and housekeeping programme, including timely communication of all initiatives.
· To deal courteously and efficiently with any external communications that may arise out of office hours.
· To ensure that only suitable waste is processed, and non-conforming waste is appropriately dealt with.
· To ensure all facility inputs & outputs are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
· Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to shift team employees.
· Encourage and promote the shift team’s operational competency in a continuous improvement environment.
· Producing detailed incident reports, shift logs and collating all relevant operational data.
· Responsible for maximising the availability and efficiency of the plant and taking proactive measures to improve plant reliability.
· Execute comprehensive shift handovers at the beginning and end of each shift.
· Provide shift cover for other STLs in the event of sickness, holiday or training.
EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE:
· Extensive operations experience in the power generation sector. This can include Energy from Waste, CCGT, Oil, Coal or Biomass or time served Royal Navy engineer.
· Exposure to working in demanding and dynamic environments, with a proven ability to remain calm and offer consistent leadership.
· Knowledge of all relevant facility consents, H&S legislation, safe working environments, safety rules and outages.
