Responsibilities:

ROLE:

Ship Agent (Operations) is the first point of contact for vessels arriving into the port and processes all necessary formalities and declarations in a timely manner to ensure smooth entry and departure of ships assigned.
He/she ensures full compliance to statutory formalities and factual declarations. Ship Agent (Operations) identifies bottlenecks to propose improvements to the organisation’s workflow and assists with its subsequent implementation.
Ship Agent (Operations) is expected to establish good relationships with the Ship Captain and Chief Engineer of the ship, and is an organised person with multitasking abilities to manage the demands of paperwork and on-site work effectively.
Flexibility to work irregular hours to cater to the different arrival times of ships, and adapt to unanticipated events and tight work schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor vessel arrival and departure closely to anticipate and address operational needs and challenges promptly.
  • Monitor cargo loading and unloading operations.
  • Handle cargo documentation, invoices, and inwards shipment.
  • Optimise utilisation of resources to support cost efficient port call, including coordination of Ship Stores, Marine Services, Bunkering & Crew Changes.
  • Process all formalities and declarations in a timely manner to ensure smooth entry or departure of ships assigned.
  • Vessel attendance as and when is required to oversee operations and ensure smooth port handling.
  • Prepare quotations and proforma disbursements as required by clients, shipowners, and shipping lines.
  • Perform tasks and projects as assigned by the Department Manager.

Work culture:

  • Fresh school leavers are welcome; On-the-job training (OJT) will be provided
  • 5.5 days work week
  • Alternate Saturday off (Fix)
  • Mon to Fri: 9am to 6pm / Sat: 9am to 1pm
