ROLE SUMMARY

The main purpose of a Ship Broker is to act as a specialist intermediary/ negotiator between shipowners and charterers to arrange ocean transport of goods and commodities by sea, the employment of a vessel or to buy/ sell ships on behalf of a client. A career in Ship Broking is exciting, interesting, challenging and highly competitive, not to mention rewarding.
We have a great opportunity for a talented, experienced Shipbroker to join our Sale & Purchase Department in our Singapore office. We seek exceptional communication skills, a strong work ethic and a high degree of integrity.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Instigate, arrange and negotiate deals, including relationship building to develop business
• Daily contact with ship owners and charterers
• Maintain a database of daily market activities and keep track of vessel positions
• Negotiate charters to achieve optimum results for clients
• Provide market insight and trade ideas to clients
• Build strong rapport with existing clients and develop business with new clients
• Maintain databases and prepare market information and reports for clientsMaintain internal data flow of key market information
