Description:

This position includes oversight of the Shipping/Receiving department in Oak Bluff. Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Shipping/ Receiving Supervisor will ensure the efficient and accurate receipt and storage of all inbound items and the prompt and accurate outbound shipment of products to the branches, to customers and back to the vendor.
We are looking for someone who has:

2+ years Experience in shipping and receiving in a busy environment

  • Familiarity with computers – part ordering systems, computerized inventory
  • At least one year supervisory experience with more than one staff
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Detail oriented and accurate with above average follow up and execution skills
  • Experience managing processes and familiarity with inventory control processes
  • Familiarity with shipping rules and regulations, including freight claims

Required Skills

  • Daily scheduling and oversight of the 2-3 person Parts Inventory Team and Transfer Driver. Provide coaching, development and performance management for direct reports
  • Ensuring that the complete RECEIVING PROCESS is accurate and efficient. This Process Includes: unloading trucks or the transfer van, receiving parts shipments and recording them in the computer system, checking off parts to manifest and to daily invoices, examining parts for damage/discrepancy and putting the inbound goods away in the appropriate bin location, including the showroom, parts cabinets, parts storage, etc., ensure freight charges are properly captured and allocated
  • Ensuring that the complete SHIPPING PROCESS is efficient and accurate. This Process Includes: picking, packing up and preparing items for shipment to other branches or for return to vendor, creating shipping paperwork, updating the computer system, loading trucks or the transfer van. May include arranging for 3rd party transport
  • Manage discrepancies and promptly resolve. This includes following up with vendors and branches regarding missing/inaccurate shipments and finding misplaced inventory. Manage the carrier claims process.
  • Participate in the Parts department’s inventory management process, including loss prevention, bin organization and layout and cycle count activities
  • Saturdays, and Overtime required in busy season
