POSITION SUMMARY:

The Republic of Tea is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our Shipping Department in Nashville, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and managing the shipment of domestic and international LTL ground and truck shipments. You will ensure that all shipping operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently to meet or exceed customer delivery expectations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in transportation scheduling, shipping, or receiving.
  • Proven experience or training in logistics and shipping.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Forklift experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and prioritize the preparation of outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery within specified windows.
  • Oversee the accuracy and efficiency of the picking and shipping process for LTL ground and pallet shipments.
  • Contact carriers and third-party logistics providers to arrange shipments and deliveries.
  • Prepare required documentation for domestic shipments, including Bill of Lading, Packing lists, and customer-specific documents.
  • Prepare required documentation for international shipments, including Pro Forma/Commercial Invoices, Certificates of Origin, Shippers Letters of Instruction, and country-specific documents.
  • Ensure compliance with vendor-mandated shipping guidelines by thoroughly researching and adhering to all requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including production, inventory management, quality assurance, and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with monthly inventory management and ensure proper product rotation at the Nashville facility and off-site storage locations.
  • Direct and prioritize the work of forklift operators to optimize workflow.
