Description:

Job Summary:
The primary objective of a Shipping Coordinator is to process all paperwork for client shipments and partner with members outside Supply Chain to ensure priority items are being shipped. This role will provide support to all members of Shipping, Production and Sales/Customer Service. Primary duties include preparing quotes and invoices, overseeing shipping, responding to complaints or questions from clerks and customers, and providing shipping instructions and information.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a transportation, warehouse and distribution environment is preferred.
  • Strong experience in outbound shipments and paperwork processing Previous experience managing customs and steel documentation
  • Works well under pressure and ability to multitask
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills. Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and processes
  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated individua

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare necessary documentation for Client shipments.
  • Manage Customs and Steel documentation and process data into a centralized database.
  • Attention to detail to analyze data and prepare reports
  • Collaborate with Logistics to book trucks and specialized equipment
  • Collaborate with Client carriers and Shipping office to confirm loading appointments.
  • Collaborate with All stakeholders (Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, Production, Shipping, etc.) to ensure shipments are shipped in a timely fashion and based on priorities
  • Work with the production team to ensure the product is ready to ship
  • Address the communication gaps to improve process
  • Communicate the delays with client and CES/Sales team
  • Divert client concerns to Customer Service
  • Manage information related to shipment dimensions and other pertinent information
  • Locate finished goods in warehouse as needed
  • Overtime as required
  • Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager
  • Other duties requested by Management
