JOB SUMMARY:

The Forklift Operator will provide support to the shipping and receiving functions within the distribution team and is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to pick orders, while working a 12-hour continental day shift schedule: 7:30am - 7:30pm, 7 shifts bi-weekly.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a high school diploma or practical equivalency.
  • Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience operating a Raymond Reach forklift and Counterbalance Forklift is required
  • Current and Valid Forklift Operator’s License is an asset.
  • Flexible to perform job duties in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions, work overtime hours when required.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Successful candidate will be subject to a background screening as per the CTPAT guidelines

Responsibilities:

  • Safely load, unload and secure raw materials and product onto transportation vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Dismantle storage crates and/or containers, remove and re-crate product into new crates where necessary.
  • Report any damaged product to management so it can be removed from inventory.
  • Report, in writing, by completing the preventative maintenance check list, all problems associated with the mobile and lifting equipment.
  • Responsible for yard maintenance and housekeeping around the general work area.
  • Perform any administrative functions related to the position.
  • Perform a variety of other duties as assigned
