QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 3-5 years Warehouse order picking experience.
  • Ability to lead a team (of Pickers), maximizing their effectiveness
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to prioritize and delegate tasks
  • Ability to make decisions and meet daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service
  • Plumbing or HVAC industry experience and product knowledge beneficial
  • Able to use a computerized order and inventory system
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain paperwork
  • Able to read and write in English and count accurately
  • Flexible to change tasks quickly when necessary
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support overtime as required to complete daily tasks or to assist the department with a heavy workload
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment. Tow motor certification required for this position
  • Physically agile in order to lift, carry and move large and awkward items

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as back-up for the Supervisor, ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse including addressing safety concerns, employee relations issues and operational issues.
  • Meet daily with supervisors and other lead hands on asset utilization and deployment, as well as hand off to next shift
  • Address shipping, product location, employee task and equipment questions
  • Monitor and manage picking queue and ensure orders are checked prior to delivery for proper quantity, product and packaging
  • Coordinate daily and next day deliveries, including product pick up
  • Respond to customer calls and internal questions regarding the status of their orders in a timely and professional manner. Investigate, determine the issues, and take appropriate action to maintain positive customer relations
  • Provide feedback on picking and resource planning; suggest changes in process, training and staffing requirements
