REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Business management, logistics or supply chain
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Shipping Managers or similar role
  • Hands on experience in budgeting and reporting
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Dood understanding of Incoterms is essential for this role
  • Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documentation

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

Shipping Manager is a key role, who is responsible to manage the shipping function to ensure smooth day-to-day shipping operations and handles trade compliance topics

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and propose overall shipping, transportation and distribution strategy
  • Manage daily shipping and transportation operations
  • Own and constantly review the end-to-end shipping process
  • Set shipping KPIs
  • Prepare and present KPI reports for shipping, freight forwarders and transporters
  • Suggest solutions for process optimization
  • Supervise and oversee shipping team members.
  • Review and control shipping and distribution costs
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders (such as warehouse workers, vendors, purchasing managers, suppliers, sales teams etc.)
  • Actively drive for more reliable and faster route options with freight forwarders
  • Actively manage and provide the best transportation costs for P+F via, but not limited to:
  • Actively monitor the rate development in the transport market
  • Frequently request for quotations (RFQ) and negotiate for best rates with 3rd party service providers for all domestic, regional and international routes, in alignment with Sales, Procurement, regional Shipping members and aligned with GTM team
  • Actively participate and align strategies and costs negotiation with the Global Transport Management (GTM) Team and Procurement
  • Manage local projects and actively participate in global projects
  • Work together with regional and global shipping managers to effectively and efficiently move goods to destinations.
  • Identify shipping issues, report and implement solutions in a timely manner
