Position Overview: As a Shipper-Receiver Associate, you will play a crucial role in our logistics operations, ensuring that every shipment is handled efficiently and accurately. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Forklift certification and experience operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Experience working with ERP systems and inventory and shipping management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience with major carrier systems (FedEx, UPS, Purolator, others) is essential.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Shipping Coordination:
- Help coordinate daily shipping activities for the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Prepare orders for shipment by picking, packing, labeling, and creating accurate packing slips using automated systems.
- Manage shipments using carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, Purolator, others).
- Take proactive steps to understand customer needs and tailor shipping solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Receiving Duties:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Organize and store received items, maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
- Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular inventory counts and manage stock levels to ensure accuracy.
- Update inventory records and assist with replenishing stock as needed.
- Customer Service and Communication:
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding shipping details, tracking numbers, and shipment status.
- Work closely with Account Managers to provide necessary shipping information, including labels and distribution lists.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve shipping-related issues promptly.
- Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance shipping and receiving efficiency.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new procedures.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all work is conducted safely, following Simpson Print’s safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety training and emergency preparedness drills.
