Description:
Staverton Nursery is an established family run business situated in rural East Sussex between Uckfield and Lewes. Having grown plants for sale for over 50 years, we have expanded to sell a huge range of plants and trees along with an array of other items from garden furniture, tools and pots, to giftware and food from our farm shop.
We are now looking to expand our Retail Shop Team and have full-time or part-time positions available, Monday to Saturday.
Successful applicants must be calm and courteous, honest, helpful and have a ready smile. We also need you to have :
- Previous retail experience
- Ability to interact well with customers and work in a team
- Customer focus
- Basic computer skills / confidence with touch screen till system
- Good work ethic
- Ability to work on own initiative
Garden Centre and/or visual merchandising experience would also be an advantage.
Duties will include :
- Serving customers with their purchases
- Processing payments and issuing receipts
- Being aware of latest promotions and developing product knowledge
- Assisting customers locating their desired goods
- Reporting price discrepancies
- Helping to ensure shop area is stocked and tidy
Full training will be provided for all the procedures, equipment and systems we use.
Working hours to be discussed at interview but shop opening hours are 8.00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Saturday - various shifts available within this period. Occasional overtime to cover holidays may also be required.
