To provide supervision assistance of direct labor personnel in the assembly and manufacturing of precision cable assemblies for diversified markets. Determine and drive the process
Position Description
To provide supervision assistance of direct labor personnel in the assembly and manufacturing of precision cable assemblies for diversified markets. Determine and drive the process of continuous improvement and lean principles across operations. The lead assists the supervisor with staff performance with respect to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Position Responsibilities

  • Leads the daily manufacturing operations in shop area.
  • Performs assembly of a variety of cable assemblies using toggle presses and punch press.
  • Schedules production activities with the supervisor, focused on meeting customer demands.
  • Assists in planning and executing daily/weekly schedules, ensuring inventory appropriateness, and application of correct capacity through cross-training of associates.
  • Trains, mentors/coach’s employees on best practices of die setups, assembly techniques and inspections.
  • Controls, tracks, and reports weekly on labor hours and efficiencies, quality of products produced, and scheduled adherence.
  • Responsible for soliciting and communicating potential improvements in processes that may reduce cost, increase quality, and/or improve delivery of products through continuous improvement, or other means.
  • Ensure employees adhere to Company policies and procedures, safety rules, and employee code of conduct. Administer corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support and implement new, customer-focused processes in accordance with lean principles and practices.
  • Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging production staff to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP rules, product documentation, specifications, SOPs, and FDA requirements as required.
  • Submit and/or maintain and distribute reports related to attendance, labor, efficiency, safety, scrap, and others as needed.
  • Acts as a supervisor in the event the production supervisor is absent.

Job Requirements

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Experience with manual and automated assembly techniques using various equipment including but not limited to swaging, crimping, flash cutting and grinders.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate people.
  • Observes good housekeeping and safety procedures and keep equipment, tools, and work area clean and orderly and a continued dedication to raising the bar.
  • Perform arithmetic calculations, read and record detailed measurements, and ability to convert fractions to decimals / millimeters.
  • Must have good computer skills including MS Excel, MRP (Alliance), MS Outlook and MS Word.
  • Polished communicator- written documentation and oral presentations/ discussions/ meetings.
  • Excellent reputation for building relationships across various levels of an organization.
  • Organized, on-time, and detailed project management skills.
  • Energized attitude.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
