Description:
Our charity shops play a crucial role in raising funds to help us deliver care and to support local people. We are now seeking a proactive and motivated Shop Manager to lead our Cheadle shop team.
As the Shop Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving the success of our Cheadle shop. Leading by example, you’ll oversee daily operations, working closely with a dedicated Deputy Manager and a team of volunteers to create a positive and welcoming shopping experience. This role requires strong leadership, a flexible approach, excellent customer service skills and a can-do attitude to inspire and develop your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and support your Deputy Manager and volunteers to meet sales targets
- Implement visual merchandising and promotional activities to attract customers
- Oversee sorting, pricing, and displaying donations to maximize shop appeal
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently
- Ensure high standards of customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone with a passion for charity work and community engagement. You’ll bring excellent people skills, a proactive approach, and the flexibility to adapt to the daily challenges of a charity shop environment. Additionally, you’ll have:
- Proven retail management experience, ideally in a charity or high street retail setting
- Strong leadership skills to inspire, manage, and develop a diverse team of staff and volunteers
- A commercial mindset, with experience in meeting targets
- Great organisational skills and attention to detail for effective stock management
- Flexibility to cover a varied schedule, including weekends
