Description:
The Shop Technician is responsible for the maintenance of personal monitors, quad head monitors, Rig Rat monitors, hardwire systems and associated gas detection equipment. This includes assisting the Shop Foreman in the maintenance of safety equipment (Safety trailers; SABA / SCBA breathing apparatus; Road Block Kits; etc.) and the safety and maintenance of the facility, company property and the yard.
This position is located in Hamilton, at the Stoney Creek HSE Station. This is a full-time with some occasional and weekends required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good vision / hearing
- Attend work clean shaven, well groomed, alert and on time each shift
- Physically capable of performing the following tasks:
- Working at heights and / or climbing ladders or stairs
- Working in small / confined spaces
- Lifting up to 50lbsPushing / pulling (tools / objects)
Responsibilities:
THE DUTIES IN FOR THIS POSITION IS (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Duties/Responsibilities
- Report regularly to the Shop Forewoman or designate for the daily ongoing activities and forecasts
- Inventory H2S equipment in and report any missing or damaged items
- Clean, test and inspect equipment
- Operate B.A. compressor safely & according to company policies and procedures
- Load H2S trailer with equipment as per job requirements
- Notify supervisor(s) of status of trailer & equipment
- Repair or replace H2S equipment (ie. fittings, valves, etc.)
- Assist other personnel as required
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management
- Conduct nightly security check of building, vehicles and related equipmentHot shot equipment to field and/or parts runs as required

- Take reasonable care to use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures
- Report to HSE Integrated supervision and management immediately any incident or condition believed to be hazardous to worker’s health or safetyRefuse the work if danger is imminent or not controlled
