BONUS SKILLS TO HIGHLIGHT:

  • Silviculture survey experience, planting supervision and/or planting pay plot experience;
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or currently enrolled in a post-secondary forestry program;
  • Silviculture Surveyor Accreditation would be an asset. Candidates that aren’t Accredited Silviculture Surveyors will be considered for additional in-house support, towards achieving accreditation;
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with the FPBC or enrolled as a FIT or TFT;

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Silviculture Technicians will have a significant field component and will be responsible for applying technical skills and knowledge when conducting silviculture projects, including tree planting implementation, silviculture surveys, treatment area layout, field assessments, and reporting along with various timber development opportunities in the winter.
These positions are flexible and have opportunity for either full-time with development work in the winter, seasonal (April to November), or summer terms (available for forestry students seeking summer employment).
