KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DECISION OWNERSHIP

• Define the introduction strategy on new Nokia Radio HW product, in agreement the Radio strategy and market deployment needs.
• Ensure highest standardisation of the radio configurations used in the markets.
• Engineer, define and execute highest quality product verification according to operational requirements.
• Deliver innovation aiming at improving best performance and efficiencies of Radio HW.
• Support the target net zero emissions from our own operations by 2030 by improving energy efficiency of our Radio configurations.
• Manage technical acceptance and life cycle of the RAN configuration and related SW functionalities.
• Support Network Delivery and Netwok Optimisations for product deployment and operations.
• Support Vodafone Business and procurement in special deals and RFQs.

CORE COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Good knowledge of 3GPP radio access technologies (2G, 4G, 5G) and wireless in general.
• Deep knowledge of Radio HW technology.
• Deep knowledge of radio equipment, SW functionalities and parameters, ideally with focus on Nokia Radio products.
• Knowledge of 3GPP protocols.
• Management of complex configurations.
• Coordinating suppliers, engage with peers and other stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of Radio HW solutions and quality in the different projects you are engaged.
• Ability to interact and technically negotiate with suppliers.

MUST HAVE TECHNICAL / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Telecommunication/Electronics engineering.
• Good awareness of wider technology aspects in telecommunications and ICT.
• At least 5 years of experience on Radio Telco HW.
• Good knowledge of 3GPP Radio Protocols.
• Experience in testing and product verifications.
• Inter-functional relationships.
• Ability to meet the deadline and project definitions, supported by good decision making skills.

As Single RAN Senior Access Design Engineer you will be part of the global Mobile Access Engineering organization unit that aims to deliver the superiority of our Mobile Network design by the best and most innovative design, engineering and optimisation and implementation across Vodafone.
You will be part of a highly skilled, dynamic multinational environment with the goal to define the details of our Mobile Access Network architectures, Radio solutions and configuration across the different markets where Vodafone operates or have partnership agreement.
As accountable and responsible for the standard Radio HW configuration design you will follow and innovate the E2E process of new Radio solutions introduction from the new product strategy definition to the delivery in the different markets, with special focus on Nokia Radio suppler.
Design, engineering and optimisation of the Radio product are the key element to deliver the Best Network and Best Connectivity Experience for our customer: you will play a pivotal role to reach that goal !
As Radio HW products and configuration expert you will continuously deal with cutting-edge Radio HW technologies, define how these can fit our customers’ needs and how to translate them into cost-efficient and operational reliable solutions. Special focus is to be put on standardisation and industrialisation to leverage the synergies of scale.
You will interact with several people in different business areas, from the worldwide top Radio HW experts in suppliers’ R&D to the implementation teams in the different countries, from optimisations and operations teams to procurement and logistics.
