SIS Technical Leader

Project technical responsible for the DeltaV SIS scope giving support to the Project Manager for main activities as Functional Design development, planning of engineering resources for the project, Bill of Materials approval, documentation review to be approved for construction, coordination of testing activities FAT & SAT and responsible for closing deviations before deliveries to the customer.
The Technical Leader should be a self-starter willing to delve into existing problems/questionnaires from external customers as well as internal customers. This position includes fundamental product analysis and design, source code development, and project development.

• Desirable experience in field activities as part of a process automation projects.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and take care of several concrete variables.
  The Systems Engineer should be a self-starter and a fast learner to learn from Senior Engineers and Lead Engineers. The position requires working in a team environment with supervision from the Lead/Engineering Manager.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

Responsible for delivering on time a quality product that meets customer requirements and specifications with the efficient use of resources, following the PMO guidelines and local standards.

• Plans the activities of each engineering resource assigned to a given project according to the project schedule agreed during the internal kick-off meeting, making sure with the Project Planner that the Clarity tasks are available to be used by each resource.
• Confirm the project scope and its results regarding the Control System and request any additional information or clarification needed to fulfill the contractual scope of the project.
• Obtains written approval from the customer of the Functional Design Specification and its associated documentation needed to release material procurement and trigger activities such as configuration and cabinet assembly.
• Delivers monthly to the Engineering Coordinator a resource forecast that will be needed to complete scheduled activities in the projects where he is involved.
• Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams.
• Give directions to the project team in systems bugs, system installation, and field start-ups.
• Proven team-lead experience: handling the work products of others, crafting estimates/WBS, and ensuring quality
• Coordinate with other project managers and upper management to ensure a uniform approach to the accomplishment of the assigned projects
• Assists in reviewing scopes of work for completeness and estimating time to complete proposed ones.
• Communicate good working/engineering practices with other members of the Company.
• Provide regular updates on progress and issues to the line manager on assigned engineering and support activities.
• Reporting security incidents, potential incidents, or other information security risks to RAS.
• Carry out local and international Emerson Trade Compliance procedures about all transactions and business practices.
• Implement Emerson Ethics, Anti-Harassment, and FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) Principles and Procedures.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electronics, Communications, Control, Software engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Systems, Mechatronics, Mechanics, Robotics, Chemicals or similar.
• Experience.- 5+ years as project engineer configuring DeltaV SIS systems or other Safety systems, PLCs, Human-Machine Interfaces, field instrumentation, or process control communication protocols.
