There has never been a better time to join the Emergency Department Team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. We have vacancies for B6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join the department on a permanent basis.
The ED is a major trauma centre providing care to patients requiring a variety of services including major trauma, majors’ assessment and treatment area and minor injuries. The department also has an enhanced care suite dedicated to those patients experiencing a mental health crisis. The ED prides itself on delivering high quality patient centred care in a fast-paced environment.

As you progress through your induction a vast array of learning opportunities are available such as triage competency, suturing, dementia champion, ALS, cannulation and venesection and trauma ILS.

As a Sister/Charge Nurse you will be working alongside a dedicated and supportive team, to demonstrate clinical expertise and act as role model within the Emergency Department.
You will be providing support and play a key part in supervising the nursing team on a day-to-day basis.
You will contribute to the effective appraisal, development and recruitment of nurses.
You will assist the senior sisters/charge nurses to ensure the highest delivery of care to patients.
The Emergency Department operates 24/7, so some flexibility will be required to meet service needs
