Description:

The Site Account Manager (SAM) manages the relationship between FLSmidth and a group of customers. The SAM’s role is to ensure high customer satisfaction by developing and executing onsite business development plans. This includes identifying new product and service opportunities and ensuring the successful delivery of projects in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. The SAM must have a deep understanding of the mining industry and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and executive-level audiences.
In order to increase Pump, Cyclone, and Valve sales in the region we need a dedicated PCV Sales Engineer to be able to work with strategic PODs within Central America and The Caribbean to drive product and aftermarket sales.
By joining the Pumps, Cyclones, and Vavles (PCV) organization within FLSmidth, you are joining an extremely dynamic, exciting, rapidly growing Product Line. You will constantly work closely with the team based in the US where we globally support the PCV installed base and work to increase such installed base. You will get all the needed support and training from the manager and peers and be part of a strong team committed to maintaining and growing the installed PCV equipment in the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Looking for candidates in Panama or other Latin American countries willing to relocate to Panama.
  • Constantly focused on identifying new opportunities to replace competitors Pumps, Cyclones, and Valves.
  • Looking for new installations where there is not currently installed equipment.
  • Service the existing installed base and grow sales and install the base within the assigned territory.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of assigned accounts including knowledge of plant layout, production processes, key personnel, etc.
  • Identify specific needs of customers and develop appropriate business development plans
  • Work closely with internal departments such as sales, engineering, manufacturing, parts, services, etc., to meet identified needs
  • Lead project execution activities within assigned account base, coordinating efforts of internal team members and third-party vendors as required
  • Continuously monitor customer satisfaction and identify areas where improvements are needed
  • Other duties as prescribed by the supervisor
  • Constantly visits mine sites and customers assigned to your portfolio
  • Able to develop and maintain relationships with different levels in the customer organization, especially operations and maintenance superintendents, metallurgists, planning department, purchasing, and operations and maintenance supervisors.
  • Always overlooking existing installed bases to identify risks and opportunities to improve, in operations, mechanical, and the supply chain so secure and keep all installed bases.
  • Identifies needs in existing equipment to propose and sell to customers the FLS solutions

What you bring

  • Degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful years in sales and/or technical support in the Mining industry.
  • Experience in effectively interfacing with clients and gaining credibility; developing and implementing project-specific sales strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a specific requirement in Spanish and English.
  • Respect deadlines and work independently to reach them.
  • Possess proficient skills within the Microsoft Office environment, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time internationally and domestically.
