Our site teams are a critical part of our success and to bolster our site leadership capabilities, we are looking for a Site Civil Supervisor based at our Whittlingham, Norwich site to lead teams to project success!
What will you be doing as our new Site Civil Supervisor?
Leading our teams towards safety, quality, and project targets on a consistent basis, you’ll be a vital link between our Site Managers and site operatives by ensuring key messages are appropriately conveyed. You’ll lead by example, always working with transparency and integrity and provide your teams with the exposure and opportunity to flourish whilst ensuring we strive towards our outperformance targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure work carried out meets @one alliance and statutory legal requirements via a range of activities including site inspections, reviewing method statements and risk assessments, and delivering toolbox talks.
- Ensure site personnel have relevant training and plant equipment/ machinery are in good working order with in-date certificates.
- Communicate with site team members on upcoming activities ensuring all requirements are met minimising any delays to production.
- Oversee temporary works ensuring work is installed as per design and Site Manager kept updated accordingly.
- Encourage and promote near miss reporting ensuring close outs delivered and fed back to site manager and operatives.
- Champion a ‘Get it right first time’ mentality; Check quality of finished products delivered by teams ensuring product is completed to a high standard.
- Schedule, coordinate and supervise the daily activities of gangs/site operatives.
- Order and manage hired internal and external equipment to optimise performance and reduce costs.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….
To join our determined and working team, you’ll hold a CSCS Supervisor card and a CITB SMSTS/SSSTS qualification to compliment your construction site leadership qualities. Focussed on Health & Safety and holding a First Aid at Work qualification, you’ll be aware of our environment and challenges facing our operations and being HSG47 trained in Service Avoidance techniques and have completed a SEATS course.
Comfortable using IT software and packages to complete required site administration, you’ll demonstrate proven problem-solving skills by embracing new technologies and ways of working. Working as a trusted and visible leader, you’ll encourage, support and mentor a range of different operatives on site to meet individual’s career aspirations whilst enhancing team output to meet deadlines.
