Description:
Ivy Tech is currently accepting applications for Site Coordinator located at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, IN. Come join our team!
General Purpose and Scope of the position:
Provide leadership for the implementation of College educational programs within a correctional facility as requested by the facility administration. Recommend faculty employment to teach within the facility. Work closely with the correctional facility’s administration.
This is a full-time position located at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.
Major Responsibilities:
- Represent the College at the correctional facility and serve as a liaison to staff and administration.
- Manage staff concerns under the direction of the Director of Correctional Education.
- Approve employee time cards and leave requests.
- Evaluate instructors using the current model based on RISE (as assigned).
- Explain College policies to offenders.
- Coordinate testing of offenders.
- Monitor offender matriculation.
- Assist offenders in completing required forms.
- Oversee the maintenance of records as required by the College and external accrediting bodies.
- Order supplies as needed for the program.
- Meet with the Director of Correctional Education as required.
- Oversee Inters at the assigned facility.
- Participate in weekly Site Manager/Coordinator calls
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree; Essential experience in teaching, administration, curriculum implementation, testing, and learning interventions;
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior correctional facility experience desirable; Current administrator’s license
