Take the next step in your engineering career with this exciting Site Engineer opportunity in our Construction Management – Civil & Structures team as part of the Network business. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our construction projects, your main duties will be providing technical, project management and on-site coordination of construction projects and ensuring compliance with Aurizon’s safety, environment, and quality requirements. This role offers a dynamic mix, generally 50% fieldwork and 50% office-based tasks, providing a balanced and immersive experience.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to liaise with clients and internal/external stakeholders to develop project plans and scopes of work, programs, service agreements, risk management plans, cost plans and cash flows to meet the specification and intent of customer requirements. Other responsibilities will include but aren’t limited to:

  • Delivering asset renewal projects, maintenance and external projects covering general earthworks, formation, bridges, culverts, level crossings and other rail-associated works.
  • Provide support to project team throughout the entire project lifecycle, from tendering to project completion.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to identify and resolve delivery roadblocks and escalate when required.
  • Provide support in relation to project planning and develop project cost estimates, risk assessments, development of construction methods, procedures and programs when required.
  • Managing Contractor’s safety performance, project progress, conformance with scope of work, contract deliverables, quality standards and specifications.
  • Provide support and supervision to field operations, ensuring work complies with quality, safety, environmental standards and other relevant standards and legislation and foster a culture of excellence in project outcomes.
  • Identifying design and constructability issues and assist in providing the most efficient solution.
