Site Engineer - Highways
Location: Kent
Salary: Up to £42,000 + Benefits
Are you a skilled Site Engineer with experience in highways projects? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading contractor delivering exciting infrastructure projects across Kent. If you’re proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to make an impact, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set out works using total stations, GPS equipment, and traditional methods (profiles, batter rails, and pegs).
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and carry out basic take-offs.
  • Raise technical queries with designers and the client team to resolve issues.
  • Perform relevant inspections and testing to ensure works comply with designs and specifications.
  • Have a strong commercial understanding and differentiate between cost and value.
  • Ensure all work adheres to quality, safety, and environmental policies as well as company procedures.

What You’ll Need:

  • A BSc/HND/HNC qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • A valid CSCS card in the appropriate discipline.
  • SSSTS certification and membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
  • Experience working on highways schemes for a main contractor.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Northern Region.
  • A First Aid at Work qualification is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with diverse professional teams.
