JJ Rhatigan & Company is one of Ireland’s leading Building Contractors, with operations throughout Ireland and the UK. We are currently recruiting for Site Foremen. Site locations include Limerick, Cork & Dublin.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious main contractor and work with like-minded people on award winning multi-million-euro projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in the Construction Industry is essential for this role.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years +’ experience with a Main Contractor in Ireland or the UK
  • Have excellent organisation and communication skills and be willing to work as part of a team.
  • Experience with new build construction desirable
  • Ability to think ahead and foresee problems in advance

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Logistical management and upkeep of/maintenance of JJR Team Offices, welfare facilities, subcontractor areas, loading areas and site roadway/logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety plan (including Inductions, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, etc.).
  • The management of the workforce on Site, to ensure that safe methods of working are used and the effect on the environment is minimized, this is to include the issuing of clear up notices.
  • Ensure that all work in progress are supervised and that HSE regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining safe systems of work in accordance with Site Health and Safety Management procedures. This includes a regular assessment of new risks and hazards that may not be specifically covered by safety system documentation already in place.
  • Manage the day to day operations and ensure H&S is to the highest standards.
  • Ensure other H&S statutory requirements are in place, recorded and readily available upon request.
  • Deal on the spot with H&S issues that arise.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents and near miss incidents are reported in a timely manner.
  • Rectify and report H&S issues.
  • Complete bi-weekly inspections on safety performance.
  • Work with the Site Foreman, Project Manager and EHS Team to ensure JJR Team offices, welfare facilities, subcontractor areas, loading areas and site roadways/logistics are kept satisfactory and compliant.

ANCILLARY DUTIES

  • Support your manager and the staff under your control.
  • Continue to develop the quality of the JJR Brand.
  • Ensure to always have a professional approach.
  • Assist in reporting as requested.
