Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (1/3)
- Responsible for ensuring that the IT infrastructure is operational and running at an optimal level
- Involved in feasibility/new projects relating to IT infrastructure
- Reporting on performance of department for management purposes
- Involved in month end and year end processing/closing when needed
- Manage all IT assets of site and keep up to date and assist with audit queries
- Continually assess the needs of the company and its users to determine how best to leverage the IT systems to benefit the business
- Also identify weaknesses or opportunities to optimize and strengthen the user
- Disaster Recovery Management (backups, failsafe plans)
- Managing of the IT assistant
- Assisting the IT assistant and ensuring that her/his workload is balanced and fair
- Facilitate and encourage a furthering of studies for the assistant and yourself to the benefit of the company due to the ever-evolving nature of IT and the business
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (2/3)
- Breakdown of IT Infrastructure and Support
- Server setup and maintenance (including specific software installation and support)
- Windows Domain, Active Directory, Power Apps, Azure, SQL, SharePoint and Exchange (maintain and assess capabilities, implementation of newer servers as the need arises)
- Ensuring that the server is performing at an optimal and preferably continuous level
- Manage Phone System
- Manage Biometric Systems
- Manage MDM System
- Manage SCCM System
- Networking (Rollouts, Layouts, Accessibility and fault trouble shooting) –Power over Ethernet systems
- Desktops and laptops – setting of new equipment and users (including operational software and support)
- Peripheral support – assessment, purchase and development of all IT related equipment (eg Multifunction machines, printers, projectors, cameras and RF scanners)
- Overall hardware assessment and repairs
- Liaising with ISP for the procurement and maintenance of all equipment provided by them (eg PRI, BRI, dedicated fax, ISDN and ADSL lines)
- Liaising with Broadband and cellular suppliers with respect to modems, servers and other devices for enabling mobile usage of systems by employees
- Liaising with 3rd party service providers with services that enhance or minimize cost to our current infrastructure with no impairment to the systems
- Maintenance of video and Tele conferencing systems
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
Matric (English, Maths, Physics, Accounting)
Diploma Computer Systems, A Plus Certification
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
8-10 Years IT Experience In a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment or similar.
Communication skills, coordination skills and problem solving & decisions making skills.
Responsibilities:
Manage, design and monitor all IT related activities for CDG through delivery of network infrastructure, data administration and IT support coordination to ensure proper flow of streamlined operation of the IT group in alignment with and delivery of organisational business objectives.
