REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ideally degree qualified in STEM subject
  • Minimum 1 year of Electrical CAD experience with additional exposure to Mechanical and/or Structural CAD
  • Proficient in the use of CAD software, for instance AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience in HV distribution systems, controls systems, and in providing design concepts to meet customer requirements is highly desirable
  • Excellent standards and work methodologies with strong communication skills
  • Must be able to commute to Cheltenham, as this role is fully office-based.
  • Eligible to work permanently in the UK

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the engineering team to design and develop electrical, electromechanical and mechanical CAD drawings for full system installations
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the requirements for control systems, LV electrical sub-systems, and HV/EHV electrical distribution systems
  • Support engineering and project teams with general drawing requirements for mechanical design, planning and site design
  • Produce, modify and maintain technical documents for development, manufacture and installation phases
  • Create concept, detail, assembly and production designs, and assist with design calculations and analysis
  • Promote the use of efficient workflows on all phases of the design, schematic and detailed drawings
  • Maintain a high standard of information detail, presentation and document control
  • Coordinate with and consult other engineers to design, layout, or detail components and systems, and to resolve design or other problems
  • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
  • Ensure compliance against relevant engineering standards and system requirements
