Position:
The Site Leader is a pivotal role within Fossil Landscape Construction. This position involves working closely with the project manager to oversee all on-site activities, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard of quality. The Site Leader will be responsible for planning, supervising, and providing direction to the team, maintaining equipment, ensuring health and safety standards, and handling project administration. This role demands strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to fostering a productive and positive work environment.
The ideal candidate is prepared to lead from the front, which can include getting on the tools and driving the work directly at the point of production.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in high-end residential landscape construction
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, including grading and elevation plans.
- Valid class 5 driver’s licence.
- Rigging Experience an asset.
- Experience operating Skidsteers and Excavators an asset.
- Horticulture and planting experience an asset. Particularly the planting of large, specimen trees
- Experience with residential drainage systems an asset
- Familiarity with natural stone and interlocking concrete brick paving applications
- Experience working with basic masonry materials e.g: thinset, mortar and grout an asset

Responsibilities:
- Plan ahead, communicate goals, and lead the team through proper supervision while working closely with the project manager.
- Ensure daily progress and efficiency on-site.
- Uphold Fossil’s reputation for exceptional quality by ensuring all work meets the highest standards.
- Provide clear direction and feedback to maximize crew performance and enforce Fossil’s Operating Policies.
- Ensure the safe and efficient use of all equipment and
- Ensuring proper equipment maintenance procedures and schedules are being followed
- Provide ongoing, constructive training and feedback to the team.
- Identify individuals with potential and work to support their training and development.
- Maintaining a safe work environment, striving to prevent accidents, and acting quickly and acting quickly when they do occur.
- Complete all site paperwork and project administration accurately and submit it to the office on time.
