  • Minimum 5 years background/experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join the NSW team for upcoming projects in the Tamworth region valued at >$15 mill. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for overall project planning and scheduling on site, managing labour and resource allocation, sub-contractors, site safety documentation and audits, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. As this role is regionally based project work, the successful candidate will be required to live away from home.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Project Manager in the formulation of overall work program and programs for each section of the work to be completed.
  • Participate in reviewing and updating the program on a weekly basis with the Project Manager.
  • Ensure all aspects of the site and work to be completed is consistent with the agreed Project Safety Plan.
  • Bring about optimum utilization of resources - labor, materials and equipment, and ensure their procurement at most cost-effective terms.
  • Develop effective communications and mechanisms for resolving issues among the various stakeholders.
  • Lead the on-site construction of project from start to finish.
  • Create the teams, develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, site crew and sub-contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
  • Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the architects, consultants, site crew, sub-contractors and client nominated contractors.
  • Ensure that copies of the latest versions of all’ for construction drawings’ are held on site.
  • Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams including daily toolbox talks.
  • Initiate, control and check at regular intervals, all set outs whether carried out by Ahrens staff or subcontractors.
  • Ensure the subcontractors fulfill the works required by then under their scope of works included in their contracts. Notify the Project Manager of any variances immediately.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards.Undertake weekly inspections of the construction site and address any areas of risk.
