Responsibilities:
The Construction Site Manager oversees the day-to-day operations on a construction site, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves managing workers, coordinating with various stakeholders, and solving problems that arise on-site.
o Oversee and direct construction activities on the site.
o Manage site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project progress according to schedule.
o Work closely with the project manager, architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure seamless project execution.
o Implement and monitor construction plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
o Ensure that all construction work meets the specified quality standards and adheres to building codes and regulations.
o Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and rectify any quality issues.
o Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
o Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
o Allocate and manage resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to optimize efficiency.
o Ensure timely delivery and availability of materials and equipment on-site.
o Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site promptly and effectively.
o Coordinate with stakeholders to find solutions to construction challenges.
o Track project progress and report on site activities, including work completed, delays, and any changes to the schedule.
o Maintain accurate and organised project records, including contracts, change orders, and inspection reports and ensure all documentation is up to date and in compliance with local regulations
About You:
o Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS, OSHA) are advantageous.
o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role on construction sites.
o Proven experience managing construction projects of various sizes and complexity.
o In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
o Strong leadership and team management skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
o Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
