Description:

Abercrombie Primary and Nursery School is based in the centre of Chesterfield and caters for children from aged 3 to 11 years.
You will find Abercrombie a very warm and welcoming place, where staff work hard as a dedicated team of professionals. We take great pride in ourselves and in our wonderful educational provision.
This is a pivotal role for the right candidate to help support and enhance our learning environment ensuring a high quality of hygiene and safety is maintained.
The hours of work will be from 7.30am to approximately 11.30am/12pm and 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday (37 hrs over the week). Some flexibility will be required at times according to the needs of the school. Job-shares will be accepted. Please state your preferred hours on the application form.

We are looking for a friendly, hardworking and reliable individual who will:

  • Undertake general caretaking and maintenance duties, e.g. changing lightbulbs, making repairs/improvements to school property, fixtures and fittings, gardening;
  • Ensure internal and external areas remain clean, tidy and safe;
  • Advise and collaborate with the headteacher/business manager to develop and improve internal and external areas of the school site;
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained on items such as cleaning products, lightbulbs and paints;
  • Undertake statutory health and safety checks and maintain all relevant records.
