Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager Air Traffic Operations, the Site Manager is accountable for the safe, cost effective and efficient coordination, delivery and management of all applicable air navigation services and operations within the specific site(s). This includes the planning, allocation and management of applicable resources, including all material, financial and human resources. In addition, the Site Manager is accountable for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with employees, customers and other stakeholders. The Site Manager would also manage VFR controllers and/or Flight Service Specialists.

Language Requirements: Bilingual (English and French), in accordance with Civil Aviation Regulations and or Official Languages requirements in order to either provide services to clients, the Public and or, to supervise and provide services to employees in the official language of their choice.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate, deliver and manage all applicable air navigation services and operations within the site(s).
- Ensure the safety and quality of services provided by the site(s) in collaboration with the unit
- Under the guidance of the MATO, identify, develop and implement safety / quality indicators to monitor site performance.
- Evaluate site performance and identify safety-related issues.
- Partner with Safety and Systems Performance, ANS Service Design. Evaluations and Investigations to formulate and implement corrective measures.
- Provide regular site performance reports to MATO, including progress against corrective actions taken to improve site performance.
- Direct and promote acceptable levels of transportation safety.
- Identify / direct implementation of new technologies to contribute to resource and service improvements.
- Research and pursue the use of existing technology to improve upon safety and efficiency
- Identify and implement productivity and service delivery improvements.
- Promote an environment of increased awareness of technological advances in the industry
- Participate in and implement results of aeronautical studies.
- Accountable for site health, safety, personnel, security, and hazard prevention programs and services.
- Plan and manage health, safety and security inspections, investigations and analysis of safety incidents, accidents and complaints.
- Plan and manage the development and delivery of site safety training, educational and awareness initiatives, events, activities, and drills.
- Plan, allocate and manage material, financial and human resources.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Manage a team of represented professionals.
What you bring:
- Successful completion of secondary school.
- Has or has held an ATS license or certificate or has obtained an equivalent level of knowledge through extensive management experience.
- Experience in an operational aviation environment, an asset.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in the industry with at least 3 years of related supervisory/management experience of diverse and sometimes physically remote teams.
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Proven leadership experience demonstrating the skills required to manage people, processes, and information in an operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a budget and related financial processes
- Knowledge of Air Traffic Management
- Knowledge of operational policies, standards, procedures and technique
- Knowledge of operational systems and equipment
- Knowledge of Human Resources policies, procedures and practices (collective agreements, team effectiveness, etc.)

Working Conditions :
- This position is based at the Montreal Area Control Centre and classified as a Hybrid position admissible to the Flex Work Policy
- Regular travel within the FIR to ensure visibility and support at assigned sites. Additional ad-hoc travel may also be required.
- NAV CANADA operates in a 24/7 environment; business needs will require occasional standby support outside of regular business hours.
