As a Site Nurse working within Pomerleau’s Health and Safety Division, you will act as a first responder on a construction site. You will be responsible for the infirmary and administer first aid in the event of an accident until emergency services arrive. Working on large-scale construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion - you’ll provide important support in OHS-related administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Administer first aid to injured employees in the workplace, ensuring a rapid and effective response in the event of an emergency.
  • Assess the condition of injuries to determine the need for further medical intervention, ensuring appropriate care for all employees.
  • Assess the feasibility of light duties based on the severity of injuries, facilitating a smooth transition back to work.
  • Manage the paperwork associated with incidents, ensuring accurate documentation for effective event management.
  • Keep infirmary inventory constantly replenished, always ensuring adequate medical resources.
  • Coordinate emergency transport, providing crucial support to casualties on their journey to hospital, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Provide essential administrative support to projects, notably by helping to manage OHS files on site.
  • Actively contribute to the site OHS committee by taking accurate notes and supporting risk prevention initiatives.

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • College or university degree in nursing.
  • At least 1 year’s experience in emergency care.
  • Member of the Quebec Order of Nurses.
  • Knowledge of both spoken and written French.
  • Knowledge of English (asset).
  • Good proficiency in the Office Suite.
  • Must own a vehicle.
    It is important to note that this position is based in Trois-Rivières.
