About the Role
As a Site Operations Manager in one of our dedicated teams across some amazing sites in beautiful locations such as Speyside, Northern Highlands and the Islands you’ll play a pivotal role in leading the teams responsible for manufacturing operations of high-quality malt whisky, which includes all raw materials intake, process manufacturing and distribution activities. Setting a clear vision, providing effective team communication, and delegating and delivering through others will be key elements of your role, as will be the ability to proactively lead multifunctional workgroups in the delivery of ambitious plans ensuring that all aspects of site operations are set-up to be able to deliver a stretching set of performance aspirations across a suite of Safety, Compliance, Environmental, Quality, Service and Cost metrics.
You’ll also lead the delivery of improvement projects and Capital investment at the site, in partnership with Operations and Functional teams. Ensure that any improvements implemented are standardised and sustained within operations teams.
You’ll engage with the Daily Operational and Weekly Team meetings to provide analysis of performance improvement opportunities. This will require excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills in order to encourage your team to deliver outstanding performance.
You’ll spend a lot of the time inspiring others and bringing about change while keeping employees engaged with the strategic changes to improve performance. You’ll provide mentorship, advice and support to multidisciplinary teams (Business Leaders, Operators, Maintenance Technicians etc.) on trouble shooting tools and Manufacturing Excellence practices.
Continually pushing the boundaries for performance. A leader in driving significant cost efficiency by using lean manufacturing tools to drive action and delivery in alignment with the business plans.

About You
You will be a true leader and role model. With a background in production, manufacturing or engineering management in a high-quality process industry with demanding production, efficiency and financial targets.
The role will require strategically planning and building continuous improvement plans and taking the site and teams through organisational change in order to achieve each of the sites production targets and deliver the agreed financial budget for all sites.
We are looking for a highly skilled leader who has experience of delivering a continuously improving performance, through the guide application of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
To be a role model in terms of safety leadership and able to demonstrate a high level of ownership for asset care implementation and will be determined to play a lead role in the sites contribution to the delivery of Diageo’s Society 2030 ambitions including supporting the global sustainability agenda among other vital goals.
Due to the nature of this role, it is crucial to have a full clean driving licence.
