Description:

Are you interested in a new and challenging opportunity? We are looking for Site Planner to undertake strategic land use and facilities planning for the Chalk River site. Do you have experience with strategic site plan formulation and site planning approvals for new buildings, changes to existing buildings and demolition of buildings? Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance and support to the Planning Assistant in all site planning functions.
  • Researching and provides guidance on facility and land use planning processes utilized in other jurisdictions (municipal, provincial) that may be applicable to CNL
  • Providing innovative solutions and action plans to address real estate issues in support of continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the development, maintenance and/or implementation of the strategic site master plan for the Chalk River Laboratories site.
  • Providing leadership and guidance on the application of site planning processes
  • Overseeing the use and evolution of CNL’s Computer Aided Facility Management System (CAFM), including running reports to calculate site statistics, providing suggestions for system development to optimize functionality, and overseeing future upgrades.
  • Contributing to the use and evolution of CNL’s Geographical Information System (GIS) for land use and facility planning purposes across all business lines on the CRL site.
  • Developing, implementing and/or supporting projects and facility initiatives that facilitate the implementation of a strong safety culture.
  • Supporting the development of strategic funding proposals by others by providing supporting facility information.
  • Acting as primary contact with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation to ensure ‘structure’ (new build vs demolition) and ‘use’ (Industrial vs Commercial) changes are reflected in annual Property Assessment updates.
  • Completing Payment-in-lieu of taxes (PILT) analyses to determine the impact of site changes on the tax burden.
