The Maintenance Mechanic supports the Rochester manufacturing plant by maintaining the equipment and supporting the EHS, departmental and site goals.
We are looking for a Site QM & QC Lab Manager for our site in Horhausen, Germany. In this role you will support the business operations by performing quality control and release of raw materials and products used/produced at the site. You will be responsible for managing the ISO 9001 Quality Management System at the site. You will support production with the implementation of new recipes, recipe changes, production deviations, out of specification products and complaints.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintaining the ISO 9001 management system, conducting audits and contributing to the site’s annual management review
  • Work with the Arxada Global Quality team to harmonise policies and procedures
  • Leads root cause investigations in case of production problems, quality deviations, customer complaints and initiates corrective and preventive actions
  • Member of the site management team with joint responsibility for policy proposals, setting of site objectives and implementation of the quality policy
  • Keeping abreast of external developments, particularly with a view to improving quality (service) and efficiency (cost)
  • Ensure that the laboratory’s tasks are carried out efficiently and in a manner that meets safety, quality, environmental, cost awareness and 5S requirements
  • Responsible for the validity of laboratory data by reviewing and analysing data and ensuring that all laboratory equipment is well maintained and calibrated as required
  • Writes and approves laboratory work procedures/instructions and records production processes on production batch cards
  • Oversee the shipment of samples in a legally compliant manner (Limited Quantities / Excepted Quantities)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (analytical) chemistry
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality management
  • Knowledge and practical experience of analytical chemistry, including chromatography (HPLC), required to develop and implement new methods in the laboratory based on R&D tech transfers for new product launches
