Description:

The Site Quality Engineer conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of materials, and services by performing the following duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University; or minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees within the organization or suppliers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

The knowledge of Access Database; Excel; Word; PowerPoint Preferred: Minitab

Conducts process related audits ensuring that the internal processes can meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Supports Customer and Internal audits assisting in site related questions.
  • Issues Certificates of Conformance.
  • Supervises the Corrective Action process ensuring investigation responsibility to appropriate owners and driving responses within documented time frame.
  • Ensures that all measurement devices are calibrated according to schedule.
  • Manage the Nonconforming material process ensuring proper generation, segregation, material transfer and disposition are completed in a timely manner.
  • May perform site specific Supplier Quality processes.
  • Manages incoming inspection process, including First Article Inspection, assuring the quality of incoming products or components.
  • Supervises quality system procedures and documentation to ensure that they meet the Company’s defined quality objectives
  • Prepares reports communicating significant quality issues and resolution to interested parties
  • Tracks and Trends Quality Metrics of the Quality Management System
  • Maintain requirements for ISO 9001 certification
  • Drives application of Risk Management activities
  • Collaborates with Site Operations to ensure quality standards are in place and properly executed
  • Provides recommendation of six sigma tools application for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, and design verification to assure the quality of assigned product or component
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
  • Other duties and projects as assigne
