FUNCTION

We are seeking an experienced Azure Site Reliability Engineer to support our traditional infrastructure team in transitioning to a modern SRE environment. For the first six months, the role will involve system engineering tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, gradually shifting towards full-time Azure SRE responsibilities. This role requires a collaborative professional who can effectively communicate and work alongside developers, testers, architects, and security personnel. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Azure SRE/DevOps practices and a proven ability to drive cultural change and process improvements within the infrastructure team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as an Azure Site Reliability or DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services, SRE and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines, Git, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
  • Solid background in system engineering and administration tasks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience working with external partners.
  • Ability to train and mentor team members with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and integration within DevOps pipelines.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Relevant Azure certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Initial Six Months: System Engineering Tasks:
  • Manage daily incidents, including disk clean-ups, server access, and AD tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain servers and services (IIS, service accounts, memory usage).
  • Document incidents and manage tickets, providing support to colleagues.
  • Manage servers, software packages, and reports.
  • Perform server patching, software updates, and security tasks.
  • Reset service account passwords and collaborate with security teams.
  • Manage Datadog monitors, dashboards, and integrations.
  • Handle P1 incidents and participate in regular war rooms.Conduct Azure delivery checks and provide server access.


    • Transition to Azure SRE:

    • Assist the traditional infrastructure team in adopting Azure SRE/DevOps methodologies and best practices.
    • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the development and deployment process.
    • Collaborate with developers, testers, architects, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and effective communication across all IT functions.
    • Provide training and mentorship to the infrastructure team on Azure SRE/DevOps tools and practices.
    • Identify and resolve technical challenges related to the transition to Azure SRE/DevOps.
    • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
    • Ensure that security, compliance, and best practices are integrated into SRE/DevOps processes.
    • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the SRE/DevOps processes.
