Description:

We’re building our Site Reliability capability to support evoke’s vast tech landscape. As a Site Reliability Engineer working within our Trading Team, you’ll work with an autonomous team to run operations and help improve development pipelines and infrastructure.
The highly skilled SRE team are managing the shared infrastructure within the department for multiple delivery teams (i.e. Kubernetes, Kafka), and through a DevOps culture enabling those delivery teams with observability and pipelines for their business applications. Their job is to guarantee system reliability, performance, and supportability with a strong engineering emphasis on building autonomous solutions that deliver value to end-users early, often, & fast.
They are central to the reputation and trustworthiness of the product and act as an advocate for engineering best practices.

  • Have experience gained in Cloud engineering – preferably AWS
  • Have good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, container orchestration and pipelines
  • Have good understanding of incident response model

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Ensure Reliability - Best in class Observability and Security, applying the Four Golden Signals, with appropriate Chaos Testing and Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Improve Productivity - Automate rapid delivery through software delivery pipelines using Infrastructure as Code
  • Maintain Infrastructure - Curate the Container Orchestration, Monitoring, Messaging and Data Storage Platforms, developing any necessary integration
  • Manage Incidents - Lead Incident Management in Production all the way through impact assessment, service restoration and post-mortems, including being part of the SRE on call rotation
  • Share Knowledge - Enable development teams within the DevOps Culture, promoting best practice, documenting runbooks, presenting talks, working with production engineering teams
