Description:

Responsibilities:
JOB OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The key role of the Site Security Manager is to maintain established procedures, motivate and develop members of the team they are responsible for.
- Manage and develop direct reporting staff, ensuring activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health, safety, fire, security, legal requirements, and general duty of care.
- Maintenance of emergency procedures, first aid facilities and reporting procedures
- Identification of risks to health, safety, fire and security and the implementation of measures and arrangements to reduce identified risks, as necessary.
- Work closely with and support the Facilities Manager responsible for their site and ensure all reasonable requests are supported and conducted.
- Liaison as necessary with relevant authorities and other organisations and assistance and co-operation concerning audits and remedial actions.
- Development of personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to company approval
- Consulting with other functional / departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects of organisational development and to ensure they are fully informed of organisational health, safety, fire, and security policy
- Assessment of relevant training needs for individuals, in consultation with departmental heads, including assessment methods
- Planning, development and implementing strategy for staff training, establishing, and maintaining appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects
MAIN DUTIES
- To manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring the compliant and efficient movement of visitors and staff through entry/egress points and adherence to ITP & Rolls Royce corporate security protocols, through effective management and delegation.
- Monitor the standards of compliance and behaviours by Security Personnel against protocols, identifying performance standards, both good and bad.
- Manage the daily resource plan; ensuring breaks are allocated so colleagues are rotated regularly and throughout daily duties.
- Ensure colleague engagement and communication time, including team briefs and daily briefs, is allocated at the start of each shift, to ensure a consistent and effective communication structure between management and colleagues.
- To work closely with and implement instructions issued from the Mitie: Head of Security, National Operations Manager and Facilities Manager associated with the contract.
- Complete daily audits throughout your shift, ensuring Rolls-Royce standards are met, effective documentation and reporting is achieved, and training requirements are highlighted.
- To ensure external and internal policies are followed and a full knowledge of these policies.
- Respond to security breaches, incidents, and emergencies, taking any necessary corrective action, and following agreed reporting lines.
- To delegate team leadership responsibilities to nominated personnel ensuring the appearance and functionality of the Security areas are at a high standard, and that they have the necessary equipment to create a professional environment and an efficient and compliant service.
- To lead, motivate, support and coach colleagues by setting the right personal example in the way duties are performed.
- Assist with the development of colleagues by providing coaching and mentoring where appropriate.
- Conduct and apply the disciplinary procedure where appropriate thus maintaining stable and positive industrial relations.
- Function as first line representative of Security Management to deliver a complete professional and compliant operation.
- Plan and anticipate tactical shortfalls in staff resourcing and take initiative-taking and correct action.
- To effectively communicate operational concerns and daily reports to the Mitie Management team.
- Monitor and maintain Security Officer competencies, raising any areas of concern to the training management team.
- Ensure all the team have access to the Learning Hub, ensure mandatory training is completed within the appropriate deadline set.
- Ensure your Org Chart on the Learning Hub is always kept up to date. Ensure you process leavers to get them removed, add new starters as required. Utilise the Ask/HR platform to resolve any issues. Encourage your team to review their personal account on the learning hub monthly, as they will not be notified of new courses being assigned to them.
- Report any Mitie personal involved in any H&S incidents on the AVA platform. Thereafter another colleague within Mitie business will be nominated to investigate.
