ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our facilities across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Site Services and Compliance Manager to join our Engineering Team, based at our Brackley site.
The role is factory and office based, so you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical. As a Site Services and Compliance Manager you’ll be working Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 17.00.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING AS A SITE SERVICES AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER AT AVARA?

As a Site Services and Compliance Manager you’ll Manage a team of up to 9 engineering personnel across a variety of disciplines to support all activities on site. Responsible for the managing the Site Service team, Engineering Stores, Facilities projects and all aspects of Site and Engineering Compliance. Also responsible for the Site Environmental Compliance and Management.

What will your key responsibilities as a Site Services and Compliance Manager include?

  • Managing a team of up to 9 engineering personnel across a variety of disciplines.
  • Responsible for Engineering Compliance and Health & Safety
  • Maintain and update all Compliance documentation
  • Manage Facilities projects for the site
  • Responsible for the management of Engineering Stores; this will include raising purchase orders where necessary
  • Ensure the infrastructure of both the internal and external building and grounds are well maintained and in good state of repair daily
  • Manage D jobs on SPIDEX for fabrication, glass and plastic and health and safety issues
  • Site responsible person for HSB insurance compliance for LOLER and pressure vessels
  • Site responsible person for waste management and ISO 14001; ensuring all documentation is in order
  • Site Environmental responsible person ensuring EMS is managed and site is compliant with all legislation.
  • Lead on ISO 14001 site insurance visits
  • Legionella responsible person for site.
  • Responsible for the day to day management of Ancillary functions (water treatment, water towers, DAF Plant, boilers) as well as air compressors, vacuum pumps, air con, fire alarm/extinguishers, PAT testing, thermal imaging
  • Boiler House Manager for the site.
  • Contractor Management
  • Understanding of engineering and operational KPI’s and be able to identify areas for improvement.
  • Make improvements in general area standards (link to Health & Safety Action Tracker, Technical Action Tracker)
  • Lead for engineering Technical Action Tracker (iAuditor)
  • Identify the training needs of the team in order to coach, train and develop the team to provide the opportunities to fulfil their roles and develop to their potential
  • Review data on equipment efficiency, review PMs and coordinate inclusion of jobs on weekend or daily plans
  • Effective communication and collaboration with other colleagues
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers and contractors
  • Lead and support improvements projects and initiativesWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • HNC certification or Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering
  • HND or Bachelor’s Degree Engineering
  • 6+ years of engineering experience
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
  • NEBOSH or IOSH
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Proven planning expertise
  • Proven strengths in building strong relationships with suppliers and contractors
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Dynamic approach to each day.
  • Experience in Engineering Compliance
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Experience managing projects
