WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
At Buildforth, our projects span across the beautiful and diverse landscapes of British Columbia. We are looking for candidates who are versatile and open to the idea of working in various locations, depending on the needs of our projects. This role will involve out-of-town work in different parts of British Columbia dividing their time between Kamloops and Kelowna.
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry.
· Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills, including effective email communication.
· Proficient in construction management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and email management.
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
· Relevant certifications such as OSHA safety training are a plus.
Responsibilities:
· Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction workers and subcontractors.
· Lead daily toolbox meetings to discuss safety, project updates, and coordinate tasks.
· Manage on-site trade coordination to ensure smooth workflow and efficient use of resources.
· Ensure compliance with building codes, project requirements, and other legal requirements.
· Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
· Manage project schedules and timelines, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines. Prepare detailed task lists and schedule look ahead.
· Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify any issues or delays.
· Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
· Resolve problems that arise during construction, implementing effective solutions.
· Maintain detailed records of construction progress, budget, and changes.
· Send email Requests for Information (RFIs) to project managers directly from the site to address any queries or clarifications.
· Train and mentor junior staff and promote a positive and productive work environment.
· Inventory of tools and trailers.
· Plan ahead and proactively solve constructability and logistical issues.
